In this role, you’ll be on the front lines of supporting families through the WIC program. You’ll help ensure participants receive timely access to nutrition and health resources by accurately determining eligibility, issuing benefits, and creating a welcoming, respectful experience for every client.
What You’ll Do
Guide applicants through the WIC eligibility process (income, residency, ID, immunizations)
Maintain accurate participant records and documentation
Issue benefits using EBT systems and manage data in Texas WIN and XP
Collect basic health information, including height, weight, and finger-stick blood samples
Assist with formula inventory, including recalled or specialty items
Welcome participants, schedule appointments, and provide program guidance
Connect families with additional healthcare and community resources
Support daily office operations (phones, filing, record maintenance)
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience in healthcare, education, or social/community services
Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced clinic environment
Spanish bilingual skills are required
Work Environment
Combination of office and clinic setting
Hands-on tasks, including basic health measurements and blood collection
Frequent computer use with case management systems (Texas WIN, XP, EBT)
Active role requiring standing, walking, and light lifting
Nice to Have
Experience with WIC or similar programs
Strong communication skills and comfort working with diverse communities
