POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Information Security Analyst to join our IT team. This position will support the organization’s InfoSec program by assisting in the coordination and execution of key security initiatives. The role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of cybersecurity functions and is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in information security.
The Information Security Analyst will work closely with the head of IT to help protect the organization’s systems, data, and infrastructure. Responsibilities will include coordinating penetration testing, supporting risk assessments, reviewing data exfiltration alerts, and participating in access reviews, among other critical security tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate third-party penetration testing engagements, including scheduling, documentation, and remediation tracking
Assist in conducting internal and external risk assessments and audits
Monitor and review data exfiltration alerts and assist in investigating potential incidents
Participate in user access reviews across systems and applications to ensure appropriate access controls
Review and triage alerts from the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system
Assist in maintaining and updating cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation
Support the development and execution of Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and related risk management activities
Track remediation efforts related to security findings, audit recommendations, and vulnerability scans
Stay current on cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices
Collaborate with internal teams across the organization to promote security awareness and ensure adherence to security protocols
Assist with ad hoc and annual information security due diligence requests and reviews.
Undertake other related duties as assigned to support business operations and evolving organizational needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong interest in cybersecurity and foundational knowledge of security principles and practices
Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools and frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, OWASP)
Basic understanding of network and system security concepts
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Familiarity with regulatory or compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GLBA)
Experience with SIEM platforms or log analysis tools
2+ years of experience within the InfoSec domain
Strong proficiency in SQL scripting with 2+ years of experience preferred
