<p><strong>Journeyman Electrician, part time</strong> </p><p><strong>Primary Work Location:</strong> </p><p>Central Coast of California - Santa Maria to San Miguel </p><p><strong>About Borders Electric: </strong> </p><p>Founded in 2021, Borders Electric LLC is a C10 licensed Electrical Contracting company based out of Atascadero, California. Work is performed in a variety of settings including residential, commercial, electrical sub-stations, solar farms, and other industrial environments. Safety, communication, and quality are foundational to our business. Taking the time to safely perform work to a high degree of quality, asking questions when necessary, and openly communicating our concerns respectfully is how we operate. </p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong> </p><p>This position is for a part time licensed Journeyman Electrician. Following a 90 day probationary period, transition to full time may be considered. Position is paid at an hourly rate between <strong>$29 to $49</strong> and is heavily dependent upon previous experience. </p><p>Although this position is for local work near Atascadero, some work may be offered out of town. Out of town work is not a requirement of this job position. Out of town work pays per diem and is based on job zip code. Typical per diem range is roughly $180 to $211 per worked day. If a personal vehicle is used, mileage is reimbursed monthly at the federal rate (currently $0.725 per mile). Following the 90 day probationary period, a vehicle with company logo (small work van or equivalent) may be provided outfitted with necessary tooling and storage. </p><p>As needed, an apprentice or other journeyman electrician will assist with jobs requiring more than one person to safely complete. </p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong> </p><ul><li>With little to no oversight, plan, bid, and install to the CEC the following: </li><li>Hot tub and A/C disconnects, conduit (EMT and/or PVC), associated wiring, trenching to the appropriate depth, overcurrent protective devices </li><li>Residential Electric Vehicle Service Equipment </li><li>Residential Main Service Panel upgrades or like-for-like panel changes </li><li>Residential sub-panels </li><li>Installing backboards in vineyards, farms, or other unique settings </li><li>Residential and commercial electrical troubleshooting and repair. </li><li>Coordinate main service panel upgrades or change outs with utility using utilities online portal. </li><li>Install to plan residential solar and battery storage systems. </li><li>Residential service calls, additions, and remodels. </li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> </p><p>Minimum: </p><p>California Licensed Journeyman Electrician. </p><p>Ability to perform “Responsibilities” with little oversight or direction. </p><p>Desired: </p><p>5 years licensed as a California Journeyman Electrician. </p><p>Ability to perform “Responsibilities” with no oversight or direction. </p><p>Experience with solar photovoltaic farms, substations, and other industrial settings. </p>
