The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

1.0 DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

1.1 Scope of Work

1.1.1 Performance Requirements: Worship leader is responsible to play for all Protestant Worship Services.

Lead worship weekly by singing and providing guitar and/or piano accompaniment for all worship services, including accompaniment of musicians and/or vocalists as applicable. Protestant services consist of a minimum of 52 Sundays and rehearsals. Upon request by the Wing Chaplain's designated representative over Protestant Programs, the Protestant Worship Musician will perform during special services such as funerals, memorial services, specific religious observances, cantatas, Vacation Bible School, chapel retreats, and other special programs; not to exceed 8 special services.

Services are to be rendered at the MacDill AFB Chapel unless otherwise specified by the Wing Chaplain's designated representative over Protestant Programs.

1.1.2 Specific Tasks

1.1.2.1 Play for all Protestant Worship Services. Lead worship weekly by singing and providing guitar and/or piano accompaniment for all worship services, including accompaniment of musicians and/or vocalists as applicable.

1.1.2.2 Protestant services consist of a minimum of 52 Sundays and rehearsals. Services are to be rendered at the MacDill AFB Chapel unless otherwise specified by the Wing Chaplain’s designated representative over Protestant Programs.

1.1.2.3 Provide leadership at all Protestant worship services and designated rehearsals. Possess the ability to maintain healthy, functional interpersonal relationships with volunteers, co-workers, parishioners and customers in a unique multi-cultural, multi-faith environment.

1.1.2.4 Provide/conduct one rehearsal per week. A rehearsal consists of a minimum of a 30 minute practice in the facility where the service(s) are conducted. Rehearsals will be held with musicians and/or vocalists as applicable. These rehearsals may be held prior to worship services if worship schedules permit and the Wing Chaplain’s designated representative over Protestant Programs permits.

1.1.2.5 Possess the ability to organize the chapel volunteer group of singers and/or musicians to provide worship music for the Protestant Parish.

1.1.2.6 Worship leader will maintain a roster of all volunteers, provide a clear description of duties and responsibilities on a DD Form 2793, conduct initial annual orientation, training, and provide documented feedback on volunteer performance to Wing Chaplain’s designated representative over Protestant Programs. Additionally, all volunteer service hours will be documented and reported to the Volunteer Program Manager once a month.

1.1.2.7 Coordinate with the Wing Chaplain’s designated representative over Protestant Programs to select all songs and determine song order and style. Work with existing worship service musicians and/or vocalists to make sure all musical selections fit together to form a meaningful and relevant worship set. Worship leader will create the PowerPoint, Easy Worship slides or song sheets needed to lead the congregation in worship.

1.1.2.8 Ensure music/service music lyric presentation is turned in no later than Thursday @ 1200 prior to the Sunday service. This includes slide show presentation of lyrics prepared and ready to project on TV monitors 15 mins before the start of services.

1.1.2.9 Be responsible for copying/distributing the song sheet and/or loading the PowerPoint/Easy Worship slides, displayed on the sanctuary computer or distributed for the congregation to follow along.

1.1.2.10 Ensure arrival at least 30 minutes prior to each service and have a completed sound check at least 15 minutes prior to service start time.

1.1.2.11 Assist the Wing Chaplain’s designated representative over Protestant Programs in drawing a written plan of music for the Liturgical Year, including Holy Days and special celebrations.

1.1.2.12 Upon request by the Wing Chaplain’s designated representative over Protestant Programs, the Protestant Worship Musician will perform during special services such as funerals, memorial services, specific religious observances, cantatas, Vacation Bible School, chapel retreats, and other special programs; not to exceed 8 special services.

1.1.2.13 The Worship leader will receive training for sound system operation. Requests for instruments and/or sound equipment may be provided by the MacDill AFB Chaplain Corps upon request if funds permit. Ultimately, the MacDill AFB Chaplain Corps is responsible for providing necessary equipment and/or training related to the performance of duties. Requests to use personal instruments and/or equipment during worship services must be approved by the Wing Chaplain’s designated representative.
