IOT CYBERSECURITY WHITEPAPER PROGRAM
We are seeking an experienced technical writer to support a quarterly whitepaper program focused on IoT cybersecurity, consumer trust, connected devices, and the evolving ecosystem surrounding the FCC’s U.S. Cyber Trust Mark initiative.
This role is ideal for someone with deep experience writing executive-facing cybersecurity content, preferably within IoT, connected devices, standards/regulatory ecosystems, and/or cyber insurance.
The selected writer will help us develop high-quality industry whitepapers that educate manufacturers, retailers, policymakers, insurers, and consumers on the future of trusted connected devices.
ABOUT US
ioXt Alliance is a global alliance focused on security for connected devices and smart ecosystems. As lead administrator supporting the FCC’s U.S. Cyber Trust Mark program, we are building industry awareness around secure-by-design principles and consumer trust in IoT products.
SCOPE OF WORK
We are looking for support producing quarterly flagship whitepapers (5-7 pages) on topics such as:
- Cybersecurity and Connected Device Insurance Economics
- Retail Procurement and Trusted IoT
- Global Harmonization of IoT Security Standards
- Consumer Trust in Connected Devices
- Emerging Risks in Smart Home Ecosystems
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- IoT cybersecurity
- Consumer connected devices
- Cyber insurance / cyber risk
- Standards and regulatory frameworks
- Technical policy writing
- Analyst-style research writing
Strong preference for candidates with backgrounds in:
- Cybersecurity journalism
- Analyst firms (Forrester, Gartner, ABI Research, Omdia, etc.)
- Security product marketing
- Technical communications
- Public policy or standards ecosystems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience writing cybersecurity or IoT whitepapers
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into executive-level content
- Strong research synthesis skills
- Experience writing for technical and non-technical audiences
- Portfolio of published work available online
- Strong understanding of current cybersecurity and AI trends
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with:
- NIST IoT guidance
- ETSI EN 303 645
- EU Cyber Resilience Act
- SBOMs
- Secure-by-design principles
- Consumer IoT ecosystems
- Experience covering:
Smart home technologies
Retail technology ecosystems
Cyber insurance trends
