About the position
Niagara University's College of Business is committed to providing innovative and comprehensive education in the food industry and supply chain management. They are dedicated to preparing students for success in these dynamic fields through academic excellence, industry engagement, and hands-on learning experiences. As they continue to expand their programs, they are seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a Part-time Wegmans External Director for Food Industry and Supply Chain Programs, with a primary focus on student recruitment and student support.
Responsibilities
Visit high schools, community colleges, and relevant external events to promote food industry and supply chain programs, engaging with prospective students and families.
Collaborate closely with the admissions department to identify, attract, and recruit top talent into programs.
Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, providing guidance and support throughout the admissions process, including program information, applications, financial aid, and enrollment steps.
Develop and maintain recruitment materials and messaging that highlight program strengths, career opportunities, and student success stories.
Provide ongoing support to enrolled students through mentoring, referrals to campus resources, and regular check-ins focused on academic progress, engagement, and career readiness.
Attend open house and other on-campus recruiting events, representing the Holzschuh College of Business and promoting programs to prospective students and their families.
Organize and participate in student domestic and international trips related to the food industry and supply chain management, providing students with valuable networking opportunities and firsthand industry exposure.
Assist and advise students participating in conferences, case competitions, and business plan competitions, offering mentorship and coaching to help them succeed.
Work with faculty and staff to support student clubs, activities, and co-curricular initiatives related to food industry and supply chain management.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with businesses and organizations in the food industry and supply chain management sectors to support recruitment messaging and student opportunities.
Collaborate with industry partners to identify internships, mentorships, and other experiential learning opportunities for students.
Serve as a liaison between the College of Business and industry stakeholders, fostering partnerships that enhance student outcomes and program reputation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or a related field required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, faculty, staff, and industry partners.
Knowledge of internship and mentorship programs and best practices in experiential learning.
Willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed for recruitment and student engagement activities.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to accommodate recruiting events and student activities.
Nice-to-haves
Master's degree preferred
Experience working in the food industry or supply chain management field preferred
